Why did Windows fail to display my custom folder icons with other tools?+
Windows Explorer strictly requires folders to have either the ReadOnly or System attribute set in order to parse desktop.ini. Windows Icons Admin automatically applies the correct Win32 attributes without altering file write permissions.
Do I need to restart Windows Explorer or reboot my PC?+
No. The application broadcasts native Win32 SHChangeNotify events that invalidate the shell icon cache instantly without closing open windows or terminating explorer.exe.
What formats and icon resolutions are generated?+
